This class is geared toward the advanced beginner and intermediate bass guitar student. Students will work in a group setting to learn music notation, bass guitar technique, and ensemble skills. The basics of theory and improvisation will also be discussed and practiced.
Topics covered in Guitar Labs 1 & 2 will include proper hand position and technique, chords, fretting, strumming patterns, rhythm, notation, and appropriate theory. Learn to play with the other students in the class and begin — or advance — your mastery of this versatile instrument.
This is for the student who is either interested in or already actively performing. Joe is a master of stage presence and will help you to feel comfortable performing so you can leave the nerves behind and allow your musicianship to shine. In addition to learning performance tips, students will also learn about sound equipment, stage setup, proper booking etiquette, marketing strategies, and more!
In piano lab, students will learn about the instrument and reading music and its various faculties in a supportive student-driven environment. We hold group discussions, work on individual pieces (with headphones), perform for our peers and work on improv exercises to help your creativity flow.
