This is a hands on course in learning how to program music using text based code. Students will learn programming basics, as well as music basics. At the end of the course students will be able to create several different pieces of music, and modify them in real time. Through the course students will learn about basic principles of coding like order of operations, use of syntax, and using probability. Musical concepts covered will be how to build scales, use chords, simple form, and texture.

Prerequisites: An open mind, a laptop, and the free SonicPi, which should be downloaded and installed prior to the start of the course.
