We founded Midcoast Music Academy because we are passionate about music education. We believe music inspires community and learning, because we know music inspires us.

March 8th 2014: Today is the last day of our scholarship drive, and we are so appreciative of all the community support we've received since launching the fundraiser in January. We are very close to meeting our goal of being able to support five students in the midcoast to study music for a full year -- thanks for helping us to make that happen!
We currently offer private, individualized instruction and group lessons in acoustic and electric guitar, bass, ukulele, world percussion, drum set, violin and fiddle, strings, voice, and more! If you're interested in an instrument that we don't yet offer, please contact us anyway: we have a network of instructors available and would love to hear from you about the kind of music you want in your life.

We also offer a number of seminars, labs, workshops, and music enrichment programs for area schools and businesses. Courses range from large African drumming ensembles to seminars on Indian rhythmic systems to blues and finger-picking guitar labs. We are committed to helping students of all ages and skill levels unlock their creative potential and express themselves through music. Check out our offerings page or give us a call to find the perfect fit for you or your child.

Student recital and launch of the 2014-2015 scholarship drive

Today was a big day for Midcoast Music Academy--we had a fantastic afternoon of music with our first annual student recital, and I would just like to mention how proud I am of each and every student who performed this afternoon--it was an absolute blast! I'd also like to thank the Farnsworth for hosting us in such a beautiful space, all of the Farnsworth staff for working so hard to make this happen, and of course, a huge thank you to the parents, friends, and families who came out to support the students. It was truly a special night!

We are also kicking off our scholarship campaign today--we are raising money to support our three current scholarship students AND an additional two new students to study music with us in the midcoast. We've got two months to reach our goal, so please help us spread the word. Any level of support and/or good cheer means the world to us!

Cheers, Tom + Anne
